David R. Jowdy, DC, IFMCP
Dr. Jowdy believes that true healing is a collaboration between doctor and patient where communication and education are the key to success. He takes great pride in educating his patients on how to both achieve and maintain better health in spite of the stresses that exist in our world today.
His path to join the healing arts was paved two generations prior by his grandfather, who was an Osteopath that spent a good part of his practice engaging in physical medicine and manipulation, as well as nutritional healing with vitamins and herbs. Dr. Jowdy is a Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and a graduate of Life University in Marietta, GA. He completed his undergraduate studies at Mohawk Valley Community College in Upstate NY.
His practice experience has taken him to Atlanta, Northern Virginia, St Kitts, and finally Kansas, always searching for new and innovative ways to improve the health and quality of life for his patients. In his first years of practice, he recognized that physical treatments alone were not allowing all of his patients to experience the health benefits they desired. He then ventured out to train with leading doctors in the Wellness Industry, including Dr. John Brimhall, Dr. David Lee, Dr. Datis Karazhian, and Dr. Thomas Rau. Dr. Jowdy has invested upwards of 750 continuing education hours for training in Functional Medicine, Biological Medicine, Nutrition, Wellness, Detoxification, ChiroPlus Kinesiology, and beyond. Dr. Jowdy is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. He holds three certifications with Brimhall Wellness and has previously assisted in their training seminars.
On a personal note, Dr. Jowdy is married with 2 children and a dog. He is an avid sports fan (NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, Syracuse University, and any of his kids’ sports teams) and enjoys camping, biking, and traveling. He lives life by the motto, “If it’s not fun, then it’s not worth doing; so make everything you do fun!”
Fun facts about Dr. Jowdy – He collects baseball hats and currently owns over 200 (and counting). He could eat chicken wings every single day (upstate NY roots!). He was a member of the MVCC Varsity Baseball team that participated in the 1995 Division III Junior College World Series. His favorite color is orange and he currently owns more pairs of shoes than his wife!
Jonathan Streit, DC, CPN, IFMCP
Dr. Streit’s passion in life is helping people, who struggle with complex, chronic illnesses, reclaim their health. His personal inspiration to provide help and hope to these patients came after two decades of walking with his wife through her own battle with Lyme Disease. After engaging in a new approach with Biological Medicine, she experienced her own health breakthrough. At that point, he decided to wholeheartedly dedicate his career ambitions to mastering and applying this approach to the suffering caused by chronic illnesses like Lyme Disease. Dr. Streit is excited to share his knowledge and experience with nutrition, neurology, and the BioRestorative MethodTM utilized by the Institute for Restorative Health.
Dr. Streit brings a wealth of experience and wisdom, studying with the world-renowned Dr. Thomas Rau. Dr. Streit is a Certified Biological Medicine Practitioner through the Paracelsus Clinic in Lustmuhle, Switzerland and has studied Postural Neurology from the American Institute of Postural Neurology. Dr. Streit is a student of the Carrick Institute of Graduate Studies, obtaining a Diplomate status in Functional Neurology. He has also studied with Dr. Arthur C. Croft, a prominent scientist in the field of brain injury traumatology and its far-reaching effects. Dr. Streit has extrapolated work from the esteemed Dr. Shoemaker’s mold toxin protocols and incorporated them into the Institute for Restorative Health’s BioRestorative MethodTM for addressing bio-toxin illness. He has worked with everyone from Olympic athletes to infants, expectant mothers to elite military personnel.
Dr. Streit enjoys the occasional glass of bourbon and the (not always) gluten free chocolate cake on the couch while watching random singing shows on the DVR. He loves to spend time reading, fishing, hiking and mountain biking with his wife, Alisha, and children, Noah and Ava. He is dedicated to deepening his faith and makes it a daily focus.
